THINKING AND MAKING CINEMA: SOY LIBRE – LAURE PORTIER

SoundImageCulture – SIC is a working space where artists, filmmakers, anthropologists can find support to realize their personal projects. It offers a one-year artistic coaching programme through collective sessions.

ISELP hosts three public events as part of these collective sessions in May: a masterclass, a workshop and a screening.

Winner of the Short Film Prize at the Cinéma du réel festival in 2019 with L’œil du Chien, Laure Portier presents her first feature film, Soy Libre (2021, 78′, VO st En).

In it, she explores family ties by following her brother Arnaud on a journey that takes him as far as Peru, portraying a young boy who has decided to explode the borders imposed on him.
Following the screening, the director will present the methodology as well as the artistic and economic choices behind her film.
