Memories Gone Wild opening

Two performances are to be discovered during the opening of the exhibition:

Un nuage qui porte un nom – Les danses fantômes de Loïe Fuller (25’)
par Patrick Gaïaudo

This performance is part of a journey in the footsteps of a creative process, that of Loïe Fuller, American dancer and pioneer of modern dance, and of her device Danse Serpentine. In the context of Patrick Gaïaudo’s approach, performances, conferences, projections and photomontages play on the same principle of exploring what was seen in the present, in the past. The aim is to reconstruct the experience of a first time.

Witch Dance (20’)
par Juan Cardenas

Based on an archive of Mary Wigman’s eponymous piece (1914), this performance is based on a fragment of notation, a process of recording movement in writing.

The performance is the result of mathematical, graphic and movement research based on the notation of this piece. A dancer uses memory, archives and his body, without the objective of reinterpreting or duplicating the original piece.
