There is a wide-spread belief that artists are special beings. Is this really the case? This is what the Encounters of the 3^rd kind wants to ascertain. For 2 hours, an artist welcomes the students in his or her studio and answers their questions. The choice of artist can be based on the concerns of the class, current events, their end-of-year work, etc. 

Preliminary interviews with the teacher and the prospective artists will help to guide the discussion. The topics discussed can then be the subject of a debriefing session in the ISELP auditorium.
